RaiseUp Proprietors Portal
 💡 RaiseUp is a platform, designed to help schools simplify fee payments, reconcile payments with ease and automate handling of overdue fees through fee reminders. This platform allows the schools to send out communications to parents through messages and notices. This platform also has features that allows schools take back opinions and feedback from parents in the form of comments.
This web application also allows schools to have records of payment receipts, records of pickup and reminder responses from parents all on one platform. Also, the schools has all their students information on one platform where they can easily access students records and parent information.
RaiseUp Proprietors portal has a live activity that lets them monitor all important actions that parents take on the parent app. This gives them the necessary data to perform certain actions where needed.

In Hubtel, we use the mobile number as the main login details since mobile numbers are unique to an individual and the user also has it linked to their Ghana Card ID. Instead of using email address and password, you always get a one time OTP whenever you log in with your phone number. Only numbers that have been added by the admin can log in to a particular schools portal or even access the platform.
The live activity is a very important feature on the proprietors portal. Its aim is to help the user see the activities of parents and perform actions where necessary. This is to help make sure the school is meeting the needs of the parents by seeing the actions parents are performing on the parent app and also to make sure parents are having the best experience on the parent app.
The approach we took for the classes is a unique one. You have all classes listed in a table and the button to allow you create a class. When you tap on a class to enter and see the students in a class, you will see various features. In our discussion, we dont have a dashboard for the entire platform but since we will be creating fees and linking them to classes, we added a dashboard to all the classes, showing details of fee payment progress for a particular term and also showing extra features like creating of invoices and list of teachers in that class apart from obvious list of students in the particular class.
The student approach is quite straight forward. On the page, you get to see the total list of students in the school and the classes they belong to. The user also has the option to add a new student. In adding a new student, its a very simple approach, you provide the basic details like name, class, date of birth and student ID. The user then proceeds to add at least one parent details and with that, a student is created successfully.
The first approach for the fees was a simple one but become more complex as the project grew and we got more data from the research team. On the fees page, you get to see a list of fees created and the user has the option to create and add new fees to a class or multiple classes. In creating a fee, you select the class or the classes you want that fee to apply to, next, you enter the fee name and you proceed to enter the fee amount and fee duration. We give you the option to add penalties to a fee and also enter the fee deadline for the reminder feature to work on the parent app.
Here, the user gets to see the fee payments being made by parents and all the details involved. The user also gets the chance to click on a transaction to view the receipt and download it.
The whole idea for the notices is to let information get to parents of specific classes or all parents of the school. There are certain information that is only meant for specific classes, these type of information will not be necessary for certain parents when they see them. In order not to crowd the notices page of all parents with information that is not in any way beneficial to them or their wards, we added this complexity to creating a notice. Parents also have the option to comment on the notices they see on their notices page on the parent app.
Solution
- Create a platform to help schools properly reconcile their payments at the end of each academic year or academic semester.
- A platform to allow schools properly store their records ( student information, receipts of fee payments, date and time of payment of fees from payments ). This platform is also designed to allow schools easily access their records without any hustle.
- A platform where the school can easily get feedback from parents to help provide both students and parents the best experience in the school and on the parent app
- A platform where schools have the assurance that the information they share will reach the parents and theoptions to target specific classes whose parents the want such information to get to.
